Bondi Reopens by Jemma Carlton
'Surf and Go' - this image was taken the morning that Bondi Beach reopened after the strict lockdown in 2020. The public health order meant we all had to stay home, but on 28th April surfers and swimmers were allowed back in the water at Bondi to get some exercise. I was drawn to the red tape across the railings that had prevented access to the beach... I got very low down with my camera and waited - and when the surfer came along with his red board I got the shot.

Midnight Oil Womadelaide by Dianne Brooks
For one fleeting moment in lockdown there were Festivals. Womadelaide 2021 went ahead with Midnight Oil headlining on two nights. Though photographers had to keep a distance, it was great to capture their red hot performance. #MakarrataProject

Defiant by David Kagan
"Defiant" Red coloursplash of a beautiful black swan at Centennial Park. Loved the indominable expression on his face. Their beaks are their most distinguishing feature. Bright Red with eyes to match.

Red Legs by Eve Baker
I stumbled across this bright red door one afternoon in Soho, London. It made a dramatic shot without a subject, but I was just thinking "wouldn't it be great if someone wearing red walks by..." when a lady in red trousers stepped into the frame. That's the serendipity of street photography I love so much! Sometimes it can be a waiting game but in this case it all happened quite quickly and I was lucky to anticipate it. She walked on oblivious of her moment of colour coordination in the spotlight.

The Red Doorway by Martin Timperley
This was taken in the Tibetan town of Dege during my cycle tour of the region in 2019. The town is home to the Barkhang Scripture Printing House, a living institution devoted to the printing and preservation of Tibetan literature pertaining to Buddhism, culture, history and science. It is considered a Tibetan treasure and one of the few cultural sites that remained intact during the Cultural Revolution. It also holds great religious significance to Tibetan Buddhists and I often spent my afternoons sitting in its courtyard observing the daily procession of pilgrims walking the kora around its monolithic red walls.
